Location: Dakar
Event: Political demonstrations are expected to take place on Wednesday, June 8 near the Place de l’Obelisque in Dakar and may spread to other parts of the city, causing traffic and other disruptions.
While these protests are typically peaceful, they can quickly turn confrontational and escalate into violence. Blocking of streets and intersections as well as burning tires may lead to significant traffic delays. Please note that a large police presence may be indicative of anticipated protest activity.
U.S. citizens are encouraged to avoid any locations where demonstrations are ongoing in the event protest activity turns unexpectedly violent.

- Avoid demonstrations.
- Be aware of your surroundings.
