Event: U.S. Embassy Dakar Charter Flight to Washington DC Is Oversubscribed
The special chartered flight for U.S. citizens arranged by the Department of State and the U.S. Mission to Senegal and Guinea-Bissau for April 2, 2020 to Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C. is currently oversubscribed.
We recognize this has been a challenging period for many of our fellow Americans, particularly those of you seeking to depart Senegal after the suspension of international flights from the airport in Dakar. The Department of State is exploring potential options to organize an additional charter flight for U.S. citizens from Senegal. In the event that an opportunity becomes available, we will inform U.S. citizens of that opportunity. However, the U.S. Embassy cannot guarantee there will be additional future flights.
We are in the process of confirming reservations with individual travelers for the April 2nd flight. If we are unable to accommodate you on this flight, we will inform you by email by Wednesday, April 1st, afternoon local time. In general, the flight is being filled in the order that the requests were received; however, the Embassy has prioritized U.S. citizen passengers who are at higher risk of severe illness if exposed to COVID-19 and U.S. citizen minor children and their accompanying parent(s) or escort.
If you have not already done so but would be interested in a possible future flight, please provide information in this form. You must complete a form for EACH intended traveler, including children and non-U.S. citizen accompanying family members. If you have already provided your information to the U.S. Embassy, you do not need to do so again. We will automatically retain the information for any potential future flights.
All passengers must have a valid U.S. passport, I-551 Lawful Permanent Resident card, or valid U.S. visa/ESTA in order to board the flight. All minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Please note that you should not travel if you are currently experiencing flu-like symptoms, or believe you may have been exposed to COVID-19. Passengers may be subject to a health screening prior to departure. All passengers should expect to self-quarantine for 14 days after arrival in the United States.
