Where to Apply

An online appointment system is available for most passport services requiring a personal appearance.

Important General Information:

When you enter your appointment information please remember:
“Surname” means “Last Name”
“Given Name” means “First Name”

Passport forms and instructions:  Please read all the instructions and complete all forms (do not sign them) for the service you have requested.  Failure to submit a complete and correct application will delay your case.

When you schedule your appointment, print the appointment details webpage and keep the password for use in case of cancellation or modification of your date.

Appointments for Children

Schedule one appointment per applicant per service. For example if you have two children where each requires a passport renewal, each child must have his or her own appointment.  If you have questions about what type of appointment you require, email DakarVisa@state.gov for more assistance. Duplicate appointments for the same service will be deleted in the system without notice.

Arrive on time for your appointment. If you are late to your appointment you may be asked to reschedule your appointment. When you arrive at the Embassy, please inform one of the guards that you are a U.S. citizen with an appointment and go directly to the Consular in take window.

For further information, you may refer to the U.S. Department of State website page on passport applications for U.S. citizens. Please remember that some procedures for passport applications abroad may vary according to the country in which the passport application is made.

When traveling, please remember to carry a photocopy of your passport separately from your passport. In the event of loss or theft, the copy will facilitate issuance of an emergency passport.
